10 Fall Activities for Shorter Days:

As the days get shorter and the weather gets cooler, it can be easy just to want to hole up indoors and hibernate until springtime. However, you and your partner can still enjoy plenty of activities together during the fall months! Here are a few ideas to help you make the most of the shorter days.

1. Get outside and enjoy the cooler weather.

One of the best things about Fall is that you can finally spend time outdoors without feeling like you’re going to melt! Take advantage of this by going for walks, hikes, or bike rides together. And when the weather really starts to cool down, don’t forget about all the great outdoor activities that are unique to Fall, like apple picking, hayrides, and visiting pumpkin patches.

2. Make time for cozy nights in.

Just because it’s getting colder outside doesn’t mean you must spend all your time huddled up inside! But there’s something to be said for spending a few nights each week curled up on the couch with your favorite person. So break out the blankets, make some popcorn, and settle in for a movie marathon or some quality time chatting with this fall activity.

3. Have a bonfire.

What’s cozier than sitting around a bonfire with your loved ones? Gather up some wood, make some s’mores, and enjoy each other’s company with this fall activity while staying warm by the fire.

4. Make a fall-themed meal.

There’s nothing like a warm, hearty meal on a cold day. Embrace all things Fall and make a meal using seasonal ingredients like squash, sweet potatoes, apples, and cranberries. Yum!

5. Curl up with a good book (or movie).

When all else fails, there’s always Netflix! Curl up under a blanket with your favorite comfort food and binge-watch your way through shorter Fall days.

6. Go for a hike.

One of the best fall activities is hiking because you can see the fall foliage. So, take advantage of them! Grab a map and hit the trails for a few hours—the fresh air will do you both good. Just dress warmly and pack some snacks and drinks to keep your energy up.

7. Visit a pumpkin patch.

It’s not fall without pumpkins! Pick out a couple of your favorites and then head home to carve them into jack-o-lanterns. Once they’re all lit up, sit back with a cup of cider or hot chocolate and enjoy the spooky ambiance.

8. Get lost in a corn maze.

Corn mazes are great fall activity and the perfect opportunity to test your problem-solving skills as a team. Plus, if you get really turned around, you can always pretend like you’re in one of those scary movies and scream your way out!

9. Get involved in your community.

There are always tons of great activities happening in communities across the country during Fall, from festivals and fairs to Halloween celebrations. Do a little research and see what’s happening near you—then go out and enjoy yourselves!

10. Go apple picking.

Apple picking is the perfect fall activity! After you’ve filled your basket with apples, head home and bake an apple pie or batch of applesauce together. Then, sit back and enjoy your hard work with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Shorter Fall days don’t have to be a drag! Fall is a great time to slow down, enjoy each other’s company, and soak up all the best this season offers. There are plenty of ways to make the most of them. So get outside, enjoy some cozy activities, and embrace all things Fall!
