Directions for Hosting a Thankful Jar at Thanksgiving:

  1. Cut out a square of construction paper that will fit around the circumference of your jar.
  2. Decorate the paper with markers, crayons, or stickers. Be creative!
  3. Glue or tape the paper to the jar.
  4. On Thanksgiving Day, set the jar on the table with paper slips and pens.
  5. As family and friends share what they are thankful for during the meal, have them write down their thoughts on a slip of paper and drop it into the jar.
  6. At the end of the meal, read aloud some of the things that have been written down. This is sure to bring some laughs and maybe even some tears!
